Aims

Aims This module aims to prepare the student to demonstrate their ability to work as confident, autonomous, safe and effective practitioner by the point of registration.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Advanced Resuscitation techniques, Airway Safety and Management, Advanced Monitoring, Assessing and Monitoring Perfusion / Vital signs, Assisting with Intubation, Neuro Obs, Neonatal Special Care, Pharmacology/Pharmodynamics/Drug Calculation, Renal Support, Child protection, ANTT, Physical assessment Observation and Care of the Highly Dependent Child, Care of the Child Requiring Assisted Ventilation, Transfer and Retrieval, Hemodynamic Monitoring, Fluid Management, Care of the Unconscious Child, Care of the paralysed child, , Care of the Neonate requiring Special care or Surgery, Care of the Child with Extensive Burns, Care of the Child with a Tracheostomy, Care of the Child Undergoing Cardiac Surgery, Dialysis / Haemofiltration,
Module Overview:
Aims This module aims to prepare the student to demonstrate their ability to work as confident, autonomous, safe and effective practitioner by the point of registration. This module will offer opportunities for students to act in a competent and autonomous manner in clinical placements in preparation for registration. It aims to further extend the student's generic and field knowledge and skills through undertaking a range of basic and complex practice learning opportunities. Students will work with less direct supervision to make the most of opportunities to extend knowledge, skills and practice. Practice learning is supported by a formative skills inventory. University-based skill development will focus on complex and advanced skills to prepare students for this level of practice-based learning
