Aims

This module will introduce students to project management theory, terms and concepts. Students will develop an appreciation of the history and development of project management, together with an examination of examples of project application to a variety of situations. Additionally, there is an exploration of the various definitions and applications of projects, permitting students to explore the advantages and disadvantages of project management within a business environment. During this module students will develop an understanding of the structure of projects through the exploration of project life cycles, together with an analysis of the constituent activities and basic techniques that are undertaken during a typical project.
