Aims

To introduce students to the roles, and functions of teams and their management in an international environment.

Learning Outcomes

Describe and differentiate between various types of international organizations.
2.
Discuss the specific issues in managing globally distributed teams.
3.
Develop organizational concepts for shared service centres in an international environment.
4.
Analyse special risks associated with international division of labour.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:1. International Corporations  Different Concepts for Global Organizations  Global Strategic Alliances  Shared Service Centres in Digital Businesses 2. Managing Teams  Team Dynamics and Development  Psychometric Instruments  Intercultural Management  Leadership and Motivation
Additional Information:Students will learn how to address challenges when managing multicultural teams in international operations. They will learn how different global organizations are set-up and their respective implications for management processes. A focus will be on the special dynamics in multicultural teams and the tasks for managers when leading such teams. Formal lectures will be supported by student group works on real-life cases which will be supervised by lecturers. Group work projects will be carried out and presented for assessment.
