Presentation

This module will be delivered in group classes, studying the repertoire, style, vocal requirements and techniques pertinent to a range of genres of musical theatre. It will be a more in-depth analysis of composers and vocal styles, and enable students to develop a more comprehensive repertoire, whilst underpinning their vocal studies with an advanced understanding and knowledge of the work of the major composers in musical theatre. It will also offer a more advanced level of technical study, to enable students to better manage the many vocal demands of a career in musical theatre.

Apply the ability to deliver a developed level of performance, stylistically appropriate to the genre  

Apply their understanding of advanced technical singing skills, demonstrating development in vocal strength and range, style, complexity, diction etc;  

Analyse the work of a range of musical theatre composers, and apply their knowledge to the performance of a wide repertoire of musical theatre pieces;
