Aims

The aim of the module is to help students develop their performance abilities and support them in the creation of an independent live performance, taking into account the necessary technical, organisational and promotional requirements.

Learning Outcomes

Plan, prepare, develop and present a live music performance effectively and efficiently from a creative, logistical and technical point of view.

Promote and market a music performance.

Apply appropriate performance skills in the creation of a creative and cohesive live performance.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:This module is centred around the student creating a live performance over the course of the academic year. The module brings together a range of skills required of the professional independent music artist including: · Creation and rehearsal of a stage performance. · Production of a basic marketing and promotion strategy. · Demonstration of interpersonal, organisational and self-management skills for a live production. · Demonstration of technical and music production skills. Each student will be expected to develop their own performance project and, to contribute as a collaborator in the staging and creation of the performances of their peers.
Additional Information:The module continues the student’s development from NQ4 and encourages the development of individual style. Assessment is via a live performance.
