Aims

1. Gain a critical understanding of game assets;
2. Observe and study references and analyse them for developing designs in 3D software;
3. Explore the pipeline for creating game assets;
4. Explore a range of 3D applications required for generating game assets;
5. Learn how to integrate and combine 3D applications with other software common to game development and implementation;
6. Set up joints, rigs and animate 3D objects;
7. Gain a critical understanding and experiment with low poly modelling techniques and props development;
8. Learn techniques of UV unwrapping, shading networks, and texture baking.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
You will develop skills in digital asset creation and wire framing.
You will explore and gain a critical understanding of the multiple 3D software applications used to create gaming assets.
Your visual research skills and narrative understanding will be used to explore and develop assets such as props, backgrounds, environments, organic and inorganic models. You will also experiment and develop skills in rendering with texture and
light.
Additional Information:
In this module you will develop an understanding of what is required of a gaming designer in designing a game and generating gaming assets and how they set about analysing, planning and designing schedules of assets that are integral to a game.
