Aims
1. Explore production techniques in producing the photographs;
2. Develop skills in composing the elements within a photograph;
3. Experiment with various ways in which to capture visual forms as photographs;
4. Study and observe photographic images and analyse and categorise them;
5. Gain a critical understanding of photographic genres;
6. Explore how photography is used in commercially and artistically;
7. Learn how to direct photographic shoots;
8. Develop concepts for specific purposes and implement through to final production.

Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
You will be introduced to the technical skills of photography, historical and contemporary photographic imagery and the theories of photography.
You will work on carrying out photographic assignments of your own choosing to record a range of visual material including still life and action.
Working in a photographic studio setting you will develop a critical understanding of the process of making photographic images including, lighting, modelling and styling.
You will explore how to create drama and emotion in the composition of images whilst recording them and in the production phases.
You will also gain a critical understanding of composition and editing techniques and processes using the latest technologies and software applications.
