Aims

1. Be introduced to various 2D Game Engine software applications and their related tools & techniques;
2. Import your previously designed characters, levels and assets into a 2D Game engine;
3. Gain a critical understanding of how the inbuilt script options in a 2D game engine enables the execution of a programme which can be incorporated and applied to different platforms;
4. Gain a critical understanding and be able to interlink multiple software applications as required during the production of a 2D Game;
5. Learn about sprite sheets and the importance of the sprite sheet in making games;
6. Gain a critical understanding of the production pipeline used in a professional environment for the development of a 2D game.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
You will explore the different software applications used in the production of 2D games and gain a critical understanding of inbuilt scripts and how they are used to execute the designed games.
You will be introduced to the principles of level design and having developed a game concept you will work with your previously designed and developed characters and assets to incorporate them into a real time game engine,

In this module you will design and develop 2D games using 2D Game engines.
