Aims
1. Develop a critical understanding of reportage and storytelling;
2. Acquire competence in recording and editing audio visual material;
3. Develop scriptwriting skills;
4. Develop interviewing skills;
5. Develop key skills for designing and producing media content;
6. Acquire insights into contemporary media issues surrounding multiculturalism and inclusivity.

Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
You will study and analyse the nuances of how a message or narrative is communicated in a range of communication media, i.e. social, television, video, web, digital and print. At the same time, you will examine target audiences for specific media and how the media chosen influences perception.
The module will contextualise your understanding of digital technologies as gained in other modules in the course. It will inform your decision as to which specialism to follow in subsequent modules.
You will explore documentary, reportage, news and reality broadcasting and be introduced to interviewing techniques, recording and photojournalism.
In teams you will research, design, produce and screen an audio/visual project which will be viewed and critiqued by your peer groups.
