Aims
To develop the students construction management knowledge and skills in the construction production process.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Evaluate the concept of team working and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle including roles and responsibilities at each stage of the process.
2.
Examine methods available for planning and organising construction projects using industry standard software.
3.
Consider sustainability throughout the construction process, in particular analysing the effect of environmental legislation and management of waste.
4.
Evaluate Health & Safety legislation and its impact upon the design and construction phases of a project.
5.
Consider how project planning can recognise the significance of commissioning and handover procedures for building services engineering

Sustainability – Environmental KPI's, Waste, EMS, Sustainable Construction Processes Health & Safety – Hazard identification, RAMS, CDM, RIDDOR Planning – Planning, Logistics, Programme Development, Activity Durations, Sequencing and Logic, Cost Forecasting, Co-ordination of building services engineering within overall programme Team working/Collaboration – Team roles and responsibilities, Communication, Organisation, Conflict, BIM.
