Outline Syllabus:What research is and its place in society; Paradigms and research traditions; Inductive and deductive logic; Science methodologies and falsification; Humanities methodologies; Reviewing literature to formulate research questions; Research ethics and risk assessments; Choosing and designing methodologies; Statistical underpinnings of sampling strategies; Research data collection and analysis; Deconstructing research papers; Communicating research findings;
Individual work designing and operationalising research projects; Evaluating dissertations done by earlier students.
