Aims

To introduce and implement concepts, procedures and techniques used in the planning and control of commercial aspects of construction projects

Learning Outcomes

Apply planning and programming concepts and techniques to construction projects
2.
Calculate critical path of construction works, and allocate resources accordingly
3.
Calculate cash flow projections for a given construction project scenario.
4.
Apply project control techniques such as earned value analysis

Outline Syllabus:Pre-tender planning, pre-contract planning and contract planning Site layout planning and risk assessments Key Performance Indicators Time planning and programming: Network Analysis and Precedence Diagrams Contract budgets and cash flow Quality management Project control techniques: S curve, Earned Value Analysis and Cost Value Reconciliation Application of appropriate construction project management software
Module Overview:
This module introduces you to concepts, procedures and techniques used in the planning and control of construction projects. You will learn to apply the principles of site planning to a construction project and use appropriate construction project management relevant software.
Additional Information:This module develops students' knowledge in relation to basic principles and techniques used in project planning and control.
