Aims
This module aims to develop students theoretical and applied knowledge of performance analysis in football, and the role of performance feedback in the coaching process. The module develops knowledge and critical understanding of football tactics and the role of match analysis in the evaluation of football performance.

Discuss and examine performance analysis in football.

Apply techniques to collect, analyse, interpret, and feedback performance analysis data.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Notational/match analysis in football.
Match analysis in the coaching process.
Football strategy, playing styles and tactics.
Measuring playing styles and tactics.
Moments and phases of play (i.e., attack, defence, transitions, and set plays).
Performance profiling: Normative profiles.
Video feedback to develop perceptual-cognitive skills (i.e., tactical knowledge).
Feedback and review: structuring video feedback.
Establishing and designing performance analysis systems.
Accuracy, validity, objectivity, and reliability of systems.
Technical training using performance analysis software
