Aims

This module aims to provide the student with the ability to reflect the knowledge skills and behaviours that are required by their appropriate professional routeway i.e. CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, CIAT etc through their workplace.

Learning Outcomes

Applying professional skills in a workplace environment.

Apply built environment principles and techniques to a complex work based project by utilising appropriate industry standard software to facilitate the decision making process.
3.
Reflect upon their developmental learning, performance and or achievement and to plan for their personal, educational and career development.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:This module will facilitate the learning process by enabling students to apply previously gained knowledge and theory in a practical context through the workplace. This will be supported by workshops where students will be able to collectively discuss their experiences and progress on the knowledge skills and behaviours required for their relevant professional body. The development of the work based project will be agreed with the Module Team and the relevant workplace mentor. Regular meetings will take place with the workplace mentor to review progress and will be discussed at the workshops with the Module Team. The following areas could be considered within the knowledge based skills such as construction technology, health and safety, sustainability, contractual arrangements.

This module aims to provide the you with the ability to reflect on the knowledge skills and behaviours that are required by the appropriate professional routeway i.e. CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, CIAT etc through your workplace. The central theme of the module is the production of a reflective logbook which is structured to capture the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the relevant professional body. These knowledges, skills and behaviours are categorised by your level of practice and linked to your level of study.

On the Real Estate Degree Apprenticeship programme, the knowledge learning outcomes are K18, the behaviours learning outcomes are B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 and the skills learning outcomes are S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S12, S13, S14. On the Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship programme, the behaviours learning outcomes are B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 and the skills learning outcomes are S1, S2, S3, S4, S5. On the Construction Management Degree Apprenticeship programme, the behaviours learning outcomes are B1, B2, B3, B4, B5 and the skills learning outcomes are S1, S2, S3, S4, S5.
