Aims

To develop students' knowledge and understanding of key mathematics concepts and pedagogy associated with teaching the subjects in Key Stage Two. To apply this knowledge to inform the planning of effective learning sequences in maths. To develop deeper understanding of KS2 subject knowledge.

Learning Outcomes

Evaluate and justify the key concepts, skills and related pedagogy underpinning effective teaching and learning of mathematics in Key Stage 2.

Recognise and implement appropriate teaching strategies to address common misconceptions in primary mathematics.
3.
Reflect on personal subject knowledge development and demonstrate engagement with mathematics specific professional development research and sources.

Module Overview:
This module will develop your knowledge and understanding of key mathematics concepts and pedagogy associated with teaching the subjects in Key Stage Two. You will apply this knowledge to inform the planning of effective learning sequences in maths to develop deeper understanding of KS2 subject knowledge.
Additional Information:The module develops students' subject knowledge and pedagogical repertoire for the teaching of mathematics in the primary school.
