Aims
To refine and extend abilities in the measurement and quantification of complex buildings. To also demonstrate knowledge, understanding and implement construction contract administrative procedures.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Apply the rules of the standard rules of measurement for building works to prepare documentation for complex construction works.
2.
Apply skills in the use of quantitative instruments, including standard method and rules of measurement, pricing books.
3.
Evaluate and use Information Technology and appropriate software packages in the preparation of project documentation.
4.
Implement construction contract administration procedures.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The measurement and quantification of complex building works. Building will be considered in relation to complex foundations, frames and external walls. Using software to produce and price Bills of Quantities.
Contract administration procedures: dayworks; PC and Provisional sums; variations and change control procedures; interim valuations and retention; claims; final account; insolvency.
