Aims

This module aims to provide students with the knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum for PE (NCPE) and the strategies and skills required to plan and deliver inclusive PE within a primary setting, therefore providing an opportunity to create, develop and apply their personal teacher identity.

Learning Outcomes

Apply a range of teaching and learning strategies to deliver inclusive physical education.

Apply and evaluate personal teaching approaches within a primary physical education setting.
3.
Evaluate Physical Education curriculum planning and delivery within a primary setting.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:The National Curriculum for PE key stage 1 and 2: (alignment of learning aims – objectives – outcomes – content; Curriculum design – short- and long-term planning). Teaching and learning strategies: (Behaviour management; Learning styles; Assessment for, of, as learning). Differentiation: (Catering for abilities; Catering for seen disabilities). Communication styles The school games values The role of the PE teacher: (Learner experiences; Principles of practice; Teaching and learning; Planning delivery; Quality improvements; Organisational policies procedure, legislation and regulation).
