Aims

This module aims to provide students with a critical appreciation of pedagogical models, their application, and evidence base. It seeks to provide opportunities for students to critically review pedagogical strategies using relevant theories and to develop their own pedagogical practice. In so doing students will utilise research skills to further their understanding of pedagogical practice.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Pedagogical Models: (games-based approaches, Rosenshine’s principles, non-linear pedagogies). Theoretical perspectives on learning: (Cognitive theories and critical perspectives e.g. Freire; relational approaches e.g., Noddings, and ecological approaches). Practical application of pedagogical models (e.g. TGFU, Sport Education and Cooperative learning). Inclusive and safe practice: (Risk assessments, differentiation and use of modified equipment) National Curriculum for key stage 2 and 3 Physical, affective, cognitive and social development of children
Module Overview:
This module will provide you with a critical appreciation of pedological models (games-based approaches, Rosenshein’s principle, non-linear pedagogies) and theoretical perspectives on learning (critical, ecological and relational) their application to further develop your pedological practice.
