Aims
1. Introduce students to a wide range of current literary and cultural theories.
2. Develop students’ ability to critically analyse literary and cultural texts with the help of contemporary theoretical concepts.
3. Explore the relationships between contemporary literature, culture and ideology.

Additional Information:Building on students’ encounters of the basics of a selection of key contemporary literary and cultural theories, this module offers students the opportunity to further explore contemporary theoretical concepts and ideas, including postmodernism, posthumanism, gender and queer theory, critical race theory, and ecocriticism. Students will learn how
to analyse literary and cultural texts through these theoretical lenses as well as developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between culture, text and ideology.
