Aims
To induct students in the various methodologies used commonly within Art History.
To enable students to develop a knowledge and understanding of their own methodological position.
To explore art works from all periods of Art and Design History.

Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Students will be asked to attend lectures which discuss a methodology from within Art & Design History. These will be followed by seminars in which relevant texts are discussed.

This module will enable you to develop a knowledge and understanding of your own methodological position to explore art works from all periods of Art and Design History.

Additional Information:This module aims to encourage students to understand the range of methodologies that are prevalent within Art and Design History. This will ensure a deeper understanding of works of art and design. There is heavy emphasis on close reading of texts and analysis of images also.
