Aims
The module enables students to understand how sociological perspectives can be applied to work, and enhance employability and careers. In the process students will become reflexively aware of the employability skills required to set up a work-placement.

Additional Information:The module explores sociological approaches to work and how sociological ideas can enhance employability. A critical reflexive approach examines sociological theories of work in contemporary neoliberal society. It introduces a range of career and employability skills and external speakers give an insight into a range of occupations. The module lays down the foundations for Sociology at Work 2.
