Outline Syllabus:The effect of transport on the environment on air, water and land. The concept of environmental sustainability.
Global, transboundary and local pollution issues. Emissions and their effects: NOx, SOx etc.
Environmental Impact Assessment.
Fossil fuels and their resource issues. Alternative fuels, their production and emissions.
Pollution conventions. The polluter pays
MARPOL, SECA
Green shipping, fuel saving methods, development of the eco-ship
