Aims

To offer the opportunity to develop original script work through workshop application of performance and, where appropriate, directing skills; To explore a range of texts (Dramatic script, prose, poetry, song) for their performance potential; To further enhance understanding of dramaturgy and story structure.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:The early part of the module will explore aspects of story structure and play reading as well as offer some models of practice for script development. From the outset students will be expected to bring in their own original script work/performance text and share it with the class. The further delivery of the module is based on the specific developmental needs and interests of the group in developing their work for portfolio.
Module Overview:
This module offers you the opportunity to develop original script work through workshop application of performance and, where appropriate, directing skills. You will explore a range of texts for their performance potential alongside enhancing your understanding of dramaturgy and story structure.
Additional Information:Students are expected to serve as actors for each other for script readings/workshops.
