Aims
To engage students in the techniques and processes associated with producing a piece of musical theatre that is created from researching and putting together extant, new musical theatre and non-musical theatre texts around a central idea or theme.
To offer the opportunity for students to work collaboratively and self-direct in producing musical theatre that aims to be both informative and entertaining
To enhance students' capacity for peer and self-evaluation of self-directed work.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Develop an effective performance that is drawn from a range of sources and focused around an idea or theme.
2.
Analyse and evaluate their own and peers' practice in self-directed work.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The project will emphasise collaborative self-management in creating and producing a collage piece of musical theatre performance.
Students will have the option to negotiate their respective role and contribution to the project overall and this does not have to be as a performer. This flexibility allows the student to continue to explore and develop individual interests in a group context.
