Aims

This module aims to give students an in-depth understanding of how grassroots and community sport is delivered and the challenges faced within this sport setting.

Learning Outcomes

Assess how grassroots and community sport is delivered and organised.

Analyse the current challenges and issues that are being faced within the grassroots and community sports setting.
3.
Apply key techniques associated to the development of funding applications within grassroots and community sport projects.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
The importance of grassroots and community level sport to the wider landscape (e.g.  use of sport as a tool for societal good and corporate social responsibility).
The key stakeholders who are involved and interested in grassroots sport.
The management of grassroots sport.
Funding streams and grant applications for community sport.
Issues affecting grassroots and community level sport.
Writing skills relating to applications.  
Debating skills.

This module aims to give students an in-depth understanding of how grassroots and community sport is delivered, and the challenges faced within this sport setting.
