This module will develop students understanding of the wide range of service provision within today's health and social care sector.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Drivers and values: the contemporary health and social care policy context. Models of organisations and service delivery: examining a range of statutory, community and voluntary sector providers. People: health and social care service users and carers, professionals and practitioners. Challenges: political, economic, social, cultural and demographic factors. Future directions: case studies of innovation and developments in service provision. Personal development: understanding personal interests, motivations and career aspirations in relation to working in a modern health and social care sector.

This module will enable you to develop your understanding of the range of organisations and individuals who make up the contemporary health social care sector. It will build upon your personal interests, motivations and career aspirations.
Additional Information:This module has been designed to enable undergraduate students to develop their understanding of the range of organisations and individuals who make up the contemporary health social care sector. It will build upon their personal interests, motivations and career aspirations. Classroom-based activities and organised visits to service providers will allow students to explore what their future contribution could be either as a volunteer, practitioner, professional or within a management or strategic role.
