Aims
This module aims to develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of the following key management concepts:
•The securing of resources and support for organisations and individuals operating within the music, entertainment, theatre and events environment.
•The production of budgets for projects and organisations
•The management of finance and working capital with particular reference to organisations operating within the music, entertainment, theatre and events environment.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Identify a range of possible sources of funding available to projects and organisations and recognise the advantages and disadvantages of the different sources of funding which are available.
2.
Develop a project budget for a specific project, and a structured plan for securing resources for the project.
3.
Explain the role of the finance function within an organisations.
4.
Review and explain the meaning of financial statements in order to describe the financial performance and position of an organisation.
5.
Describe the role and importance of working capital in ensuring the successful ongoing operation of an organisation or project.
