Aims

To develop understanding of collaborative group work for a built environment project. To develop understanding of the role of different professional disciplines in the built environment.

Learning Outcomes

Work and communicate professionally in a collaborative team environment.

Understand the roles of each professional discipline and the decisions made at the various stages of a built environment project
3.
Utilise appropriate software to develop and present built environment project work.
4.
Identify and reflect upon selected aspects of self-awareness in respect of personal development and planning for a career in the Built Environment.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:
This module will facilitate the learning process by enabling students to apply knowledge and skills to a built environment project. Students will work collaboratively in small groups and a typical project will include the following: team work and working in groups; roles and responsibilities; site analysis & property market research; development schemes; plans of work, principles of negotiation and decision making; sustainable design; financial and legal considerations; application of appropriate software to support the decision making process and to support the final project presentation. This module will include formative feedback provided by tutors.
