Aims

To develop a holistic understanding of a modern quantity surveyor's roles, interactions, collaborations, and value propositions throughout construction project lifecycle.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Define stages (phases) of a typical construction project and identify project participants involved.
2.
Review the quantity surveyor's role in each project stage (phase), discuss interactions/collaborations with other project participants, and Identify required inputs, processes, and outputs that a quantity surveyor delivers/executes at each project stage.
3.
Collaborate and contribute effectively in group work, prepare and deliver professional presentations, utilize appropriate technology for group collaboration and presentations, reflect on and evaluate group work and presentation performance
4.
Establish links between quantity surveyor's standard tasks and activities conducted at each project phase and professional body competencies.
5.
Identify rules of conduct and ethical code of quantity surveying professional practice.
