Aims

This module aims to provide the student with the ability to develop, demonstrate and reflect on the knowledge, skills and behaviours that are required by their appropriate professional routeway i.e. C.I.O.B, RICS, CIBSE, CIAT etc through their workplace.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Reflect upon their learning, performance and achievement of the knowledge, skills and behaviours of their applicable apprenticeship standard.
2.
Identify the skills and competencies from their appropriate professional routeway.
3.
Develop a personal development plan mapping their learning needs towards achieving the knowledge, skills and behaviours of their applicable apprenticeship standard and competencies of their professional routeway up to the End Point Assessment.
4.
Demonstrate and evidence personal and professional development, managing their own learning needs.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:This module will facilitate the learning process by enabling students to apply previously gained knowledge and theory in a practical context through the workplace. This will be supported by workshops where students will be able to collectively discuss their experiences and progress on the knowledge skills and behaviours and those required for their relevant professional body. The development of the personal development plan will be agreed with the module team and the relevant workplace mentor. Regular meetings will take place with the workplace mentor to review progress and will be discussed at the workshop with the module team covering such aspects as, demonstrating and evidencing the 20% off the job training apprenticeship requirements, monthly mentor and apprentice meetings, the tripartite Academic Liaison Tutor meetings and their associated feedback and action plans.
Module Overview:
This module aims to provide the student with the ability to develop, demonstrate and reflect on the knowledge, skills and behaviours that are required by their appropriate professional routeway i.e. C.I.O.B, RICS, CIBSE, CIAT etc through their workplace.
Additional Information:The central theme of the module is the production of a portfolio, incorporating a reflective report demonstrating their progress and development needs towards achieving the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours within their applicable Apprenticeship Standard and professional routeway, an action plan for the completion of their appropriate professional routeway, including targets, timelines needed to complete the apprenticeship by the planned end date. On the Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship programme, the Behaviour learning outcomes for this module are B1, B2, B3, B4 and B5. On the Construction Management Degree Apprenticeship, the knowledge learning outcomes are K5, K8 and the Behaviour learning outcomes are B1, B2, B3, B4 and B5.
