The module aims to explore the criminal justice process in England and Wales. You will learn about: police powers, including the power to stop and search; crime control and due process models of policing; sentencing and punishment.

Additional Information:This module is designed for students studying criminal justice and students studying forensic psychology or law alongside criminal justice modules. The module aims to explore the criminal justice process in England and Wales. Areas to be examined include: police powers, including the power to stop and search; crime control and due process models of policing; sentencing and punishment. The role of determining contexts such as class, race and gender will be an integral part of the module. Students will be introduced to the issue of theory, policy and practice.
