Aims

To provide students with an insight into the key themes and concepts that occur in EH, as they begin their course and as they progress through their programme of study and into a career in EH.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:The module will cover concepts such as risk; communication; interventions; inequalities; globalisation and research in relation to environmental health. It will also include sessions around health and housing and noise and nuisance The module will look to provide definitions of these concepts and how they are integrated into environmental health
Module Overview:
Within Environmental Health there has been a tradition to focus on the five key intervention areas: food safety; health and safety; housing; environmental protection and health promotion and health protection (sometimes known as public health within Environmental Health circles). In this module you will look to move away from this traditional model and instead you will examine the key themes and concepts that underpin these intervention areas.
