Aims
To explore principles of human physiology and pathology with respect to homeostatic mechanisms. To demonstrate an understanding of bacteria, viruses and fungus and their role in human health and disease.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Recall the principles of cellular communication.
2.
Identify the importance of homeostatic control in the human body and patho-physiology of these regulatory systems.
3.
Recognise the replicative cycle of bacteria, fungi and viruses and their role in human health and disease.
4.
Demonstrate an understanding of bacteria and anti-bacterial agents through practical application.
5.
Describe the structure and function of the human immune system and the implications of immune disease.
