To provide students with an understanding of the range of stressors and their impact on the living and built environment
Learning Outcomes

Explain the structure and function of major systems within the human body and the disease process

Discuss biological processes in relation to the environment, and the basic principles of ecology, including the biosphere and its systems.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The relationships between humans and their environment. Basic scientific terminology and exploration of key body systems and common related diseases. Fundamental principles of ecology, the biosphere and its processes, including, climate change and concepts of recycling and renewal. Natural resources and how they are used in society, sustainability and health.
Module Overview:
This module allows you to gain an insight into how environmental stressors impact on the human body and the living environment. There will also be a field trip to a sewage treatment plant, composting facility, restored landfill site or similar venue to explore the ecological processes employed.
