Aims
This module aims to develop the basic business skills and knowledge necessary to facilitate a career in the music and entertainment industries. It also aims to provide knowledge of the context in which these industries operate. Practical business skills will include research and action planning, and presenting ideas in written format.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:
Students will cover relevant aspects of law, such as copyright, and consider their own place within the music and entertainment industries. Students will examine how the industry operates and engage with contemporary developments. Students will work towards an essay relevant to their career plans based on a list of set essay questions.

Module Overview:
Weekly lectures then lead into seminar groups to discuss topics that relate to relevant aspects music industries, examining how they operate, and how students' career aspirations fit within them. Students complete an essay drawn from a list of topics on a contemporary issue, or popular music industry subject.
