Aims
To provide a critical understanding of existing knowledge and theory of a subject area relevant to your workplace, that can be applied to the creation of new knowledge at the forefront of their area of professional practice.

Critically appraise and analyse literature and research relating to the topic under investigation

Demonstrate the application of theory to your area of professional practice

Justify the choice and reasoning of the literature review methods and design implemented

Implement appropriate search strategies in order to systematically develop and organise a comprehensive literature base, applicable to your subject area
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Students will engage with the principles, theory and practice of:
Academic writing, literature searching and search strategies, recording and organising relevant literature, referencing and citation, conducting a literature review, purpose of literature reviews, structuring and designing literature reviews, developing a critical debate, choosing appropriate sources, advanced literature review methods and techniques.

Additional Information:This module is designed to equip students with the skills and confidence to develop and complete an extensive literature review, that will eventually contribute to the final thesis submission.
