Aims

To enable the participant to conceptualise, plan and conduct a study for the generation of knowledge, which is at the forefront of an academic discipline or an area of professional practice.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Provide evidence for the creation and interpretation of new knowledge at the forefront of an academic discipline or area of professional practice.
2.
Apply and develop appropriate techniques/methods in research and scholarship.
3.
Provide evidence of original contribution to the development and/or implementation of new methods or system of practice.
4.
Communicate, discuss evaluate and defend ideas and conclusions to the satisfaction of peers to non-specialist audiences.
5.
Provide evidence of achievement of additional outcomes as detailed in the Learning Agreement.

Module Overview:
This module enables you to produce either a conventional or a professional journal report on the models, methodology, findings and conclusion of your research. You will provide evidence of the creation and interpretation of ground-breaking knowledge. The module enables you to:
  • conceptualise
  • plan
  • conduct

a study for the generation of knowledge at the forefront of your academic discipline or area of professional practice.
Additional Information:This module offers either the choice of producing a conventional report on the models, methodology, findings and conclusion of the research or a research report in a format that is suitable for publication in an academic/professional journal. The participant will also have the opportunity to provide evidence of creation and interpretation of new knowledge that is at the forefront of an academic discipline or area of professional practice.
