Aims
To enable students to:
Understand HSE Management Systems and the differences in approach taken in different hazardous industries
Devise documentation for key aspects of an HSE Management System.
Examine the challenges and issues affecting the implementation of an effective HSE management system

Additional Information:The aim of this module is to deliver an understanding of what constitutes a Health, Safety & Environment Management System (HSE MS), and how these systems are applied in different hazardous industries. Legislative requirements for an HSE MS are also examined. The module examines issues associated with the documentation and implementation of an HSE MS.
Assessment is in the form of an essay combined with activities (e.g. exercises, discussions, etc.).
The module is delivered via distance learning, described as follows:
Lecture (using slides and slide notes): Online self-study
Tutorial/Activities (Exercises and reviews): Online activities with teacher feedback, and virtual classrooms
Tutor-supported Online: Tutor feedback for activities, virtual classrooms and email support
