The course examines the Protection of Refugees in International Law

Develop a critical awareness of the factors which currently shape this area of law

Flexibly and creatively apply knowledge of the practices within the field of international refugee law
3.
Incorporate a wide awareness of issues at the forefront of this area of law, and the ability to apply them critically in a variety of contexts
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:• Overview of the various legal and political values which have shaped the treatment of refugees in international law.
• Key international and regional instruments.
• The legal scope of the term 'refugee' for these purposes.
• The nature of the rights afforded to those with refugee status.
Additional Information:There are no professional body requirements at this stage, however developments will be monitored and where appropriate, incorporated into module content.
