Aims

The module aims to provide students with a critical understanding of the process of globalisation and the ability to critically reflect on the impact of globalisation on education and social justice

Deconstruct the relationship between education, globalisation, the nation state and citizenship

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Students will critically explore a range of related topics, for example: - The process of globalisation - Ways in which globalisation has influenced education systems - Increasing internationalisation of the curriculum and the development of international schools - Perspectives on teaching, learning, and assessment - Learning in a connected world - Principles and complexities of Social Justice in globalised contexts - Global mobility and processes of equal opportunity - Social responsibilities and effecting change
Additional Information:This module is delivered on the Westford campus as part of a face-to-face programme. Students will explore perspectives which challenge ethno-centricism and critically consider education and social justice in global contexts
