To critically reflect on personal values, beliefs and assumptions in relation to developing practice and the implications of relevant theory and research on students' own educational practice in a range of contexts

Outline Syllabus:- The meaning of critical reflection and reflexivity - Critical Social Theory - Theory into practice - different theoretical perspectives - Examining power, privilege and oppression - Transformative educational approaches - Continuing professional learning and development - Tools for reflection
Additional Information:This module is delivered at the Westford campus as part of a face-to-face programme. The module focuses on developing students professional insights, personal transformative learning and critically reflective practice in a range of contexts. The assessment for this module is a presentation (no more x4 PowerPoint slides) highlighting the student's personal reflexive learning journey/transformative learning and implications - supported by a critical Written Journal Commentary which draws on models and theories. Equivalent 4,500 words.
