Aims

This module provides students with the knowledge and tools to develop their skills as researchers, as well as their ability to systematically evaluate research outcomes from a variety of sources. In addition, students will engage in a variety of data analysis techniques.

Learning Outcomes

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Introduction to qualitative, quantitative and systematic research approaches Quantitative methods: sampling, data collection and analysis Qualitative methods: sampling, data collection and analysis Developing a systematic review question Critical appraisal and quality assessment Developing research ideas and writing a research proposal Understanding ethics in nursing research Research ethics
Additional Information:This module will provide a critical knowledge base of the philosophical foundations of nursing research, and enable the student to develop competencies in qualitative, quantitative and systematic/scoping review data collection methods and analysis. This module will prepare the student to carry out their dissertation project.
