Aims
The aim of this module is to introduce the opportunity for the student to engage in a second, self-directed, ‘minor’ professional project, which will focus their research and applied knowledge upon a creative, strategic or technical management issue within their chosen ‘speciality’. This second professional project will emphasise a particularly collaborate aspect within a work-based environment. The learning, practical and knowledge outcomes of the project will be further investigated and reflected upon through the assessment Viva.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Collaborate on, respond to and communicate practical, creative and managerial decisions and intentions within a complex, professional working environment.
2.
Gather, evaluate and present evidence regarding personal career development and understanding.
3.
Objectively and coherently utilise work as research, building a body of evidence to interrogate and reflect upon.
4.
Evidence engagement of working in a collaborative and sophisticated manner within their chosen sector of the music industry.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:The purpose of this module is to build upon the research, knowledge and learning engendered in the first Practical Project module by continuing to encourage, guide and mentor the student in engaging, from within their professional work environment, in independent research work, informed by and related directly to their own practice and professional development needs: but with greater and more academically robust use of theory and music industry analysis.
Students will be supported and tutored in widening their research methodologies, and bringing greater professionally focussed rigour to the detailing, collating and dissemination of their project work.
