Aims
This module aims to provide the underpinning knowledge and theory in relation to management and prevention of infectious diseases across a variety of settings.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Demonstrate critical knowledge of the epidemiology of different infectious diseases
2.
Critically analyse current approaches to prevention and control of infectious diseases in different health care settings.
3.
Explain how political, social and economic factors can impact success
and failure in the control of infectious diseases.

Additional Information:This module provides underpinning knowledge and theory in relation to management of infectious diseases across a variety of settings, enabling students to critically analyse current practice in their own area of work. Students will also identify opportunities to enhance practice, considering effectiveness and access to services.
