Aims

To develop the students' ability to plan, execute and report in depth on a major research investigation related to business or management. This work enables students to display all of the skills learnt on the programme and give the opportunity to demonstrate creativity, initiative, ingenuity and communication in an academic context.

Learning Outcomes

1.
Synthesise knowledge skills and analytical techniques taught in the programme to underpin research in an area of business or management in which the investigation takes place using independent study.
2.
Discuss and critically evaluate a selected area of research within the domain of business or management and identify relevant legal, social, ethical and professional issues associated with the project.
3.
Structure and write a major dissertation.
4.
Apply the conventions of academic research dissemination to personal research.

Module Content

Outline Syllabus:Appropriate project areas within the field of business and management will be decided in consultation between the tutor and the student. Self directed, individual study, research and the writing up of a dissertation.
Additional Information:The module aims to develop the student's ability to plan, execute and report in depth on a major investigation.
