Aims

To demonstrate critical understanding of equity, trusts, succession and wills and administration.

Learning Outcomes

Critically discuss and analyse the fundamental concepts, values and principles of equity and trusts, succession and wills and admin
2.
Apply legal knowledge to problem questions, drawing logical conclusions substantiated by legal authority
3.
Apply knowledge to MCQs by identifying the correct answer through application of law
4.
Demonstrate the ability to present a cogent critical legal argument which illustrates high levels of skill in legal terminology and language

Outline Syllabus:Principles of equity and creation of trusts creation of a will and revocation intestacy Claims under the IPFDA'75 Charitable and non-charitable purpose trusts Trustee and fiduciary duties, breach, strangers and tracing
Module Overview:
This module will develop students' critical understanding of equity, trusts, succession and wills and administration. Students will be given a mock Will to be used throughout the seminars by way of demonstration of the legal principles of equity and succession. Students will be expected to write letters of advice on certain subjects as well as memos and reports as appropriate.
Additional Information:This is a core module on LLM L & P programme
