Aims
To equip students with the Knowledge and understanding of large scale-up for manufacturing and packaging attributes of relevance to cosmetic formulations. In addition students will acquire the knowledge, understanding and application of microbiological testing

Outline Syllabus:Knowledge and understanding of scale-up and trouble-shooting
Knowledge and appreciation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and process water
Knowledge and understanding of packaging and stability of product
Knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory aspects of labelling
Knowledge and understanding with regards to the nature of the claims of products and borderline substances
Knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of the 'Responsible Person'
Knowledge, understanding and practical skills in microbial testing
Module Overview:
The module will equip you with the knowledge and understanding of large scale-up for manufacturing, packaging, labelling, regulation and claims applicable to cosmetic formulations. In addition, you will acquire the knowledge, understanding and application of microbiological testing.
