Aims
To develop in-depth understanding of psychological issues involved in the course and outcome of long-term conditions which have contemporary relevance for the NHS and Public Health, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer and obesity.
Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate critical awareness of biopsychosocial and lifespan perspectives relevant to long term conditions
2.
Critically evaluate interventions designed to improve the management of long-term conditions.
Module Content
Outline Syllabus:Adjustment to long term conditions; long-term condition management and policy; physiological factors related to specific long term conditions, e.g. chronic pain; Psychological factors and their relevance and application in the context of long term conditions such as pain, diabetes and obesity.
