Aims
To investigate the context and processes of project management and to develop skills in the use of project management techniques.
Learning Outcomes
1.
Critically evaluate organisational approaches to project management.
2.
Analyse the concepts of stakeholders, success criteria and critical success factors in the context of projects.
3.
Critically evaluate methods for the management of the project life cycle.
4.
Select and apply methods, tools and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects and for managing risk.
5.
Analyse the skills and competencies required of the project manager, including the use of computer software packages for managing information.

Module Overview:
This module aims to investigate the context and processes of project management and to develop skills in the use of project management techniques.
This module aims to investigate the context and processes of project management and to develop skills in the use of project management techniques.
Additional Information:Project Management requires project management knowledge, transferable skills, such as presenting, and the ability to use project management tools, such as 'MS-Project'. The coursework will include a group submission involving the simulation of a project team, with students working together to plan and define a project of their choice, which has been agreed by the tutor. Project teams are required to present their findings to tutors from the module team. Formative feedback will be provided on this piece of work before the submission of the final part of the coursework which is assessed as an individual's piece of work.
