To provide the healthcare practitioner with the knowledge underpinning the use and benefits of a narrative approach to healthcare in both acute and continuing care settings

Module Overview:
The course intends to broaden your understanding and application of the use of narrative approaches in health care. It aims to:

- provide the healthcare practitioner with the knowledge underpinning the use and benefits of a narrative approach to healthcare in both acute and continuing care settings
Additional Information:The course is aimed at a variety of healthcare practitioners and intends to broaden their understanding and application of the use of narrative approaches in health care. The assessment consists of a written assessment.
The module is offered as an optional module s part of MSc Advanced Health Care Practice and is offered twice a year
The students have access to a VLE and the University's other range of electronic
support such as access to the electronic library facilities. The students also have
access to the module leader through phone contact, emails and face to face
meetings. A module guide is also provided which guides students to the wider range
of support available.

The methods for improving the quality and standards of learning are as follows:
• Continuous Monitoring and Enhancement

• Reports from External Examiner
• Ensuring the module reflects the values of the current teaching and learning
strategy
An appropriately qualified external examiner will be
selected from the team for the MSc Advanced Health Care Practice.
